Computer Animation

This course will teach the students about current techniques in computer animation.

Main techniques covered in this course include:
  • Key framing
  • Story boarding
  • Kinematics
  • Physically based dynamics modelling
  • Motion capture
  • Scene composition
  • Lighting

Advanced topics such as dynamic simulation of flexible and rigid objects, facial animation,
and behavioural - AI based animation are also studied.

By the end of this course, students should:
Have learned computational methods for modelling of motions in the physical and virtual world.
Be able to storyboard, light, compose, and render an animated sequence.
Be able to read and critically evaluate the current literature in computer animation.
